I have respiratory issues from smoking for years. It is a mistake I regret. Now I despise smoking.

Do you know what it sounds like when air escapes from gloves as theypummel an already hardened skull? I do after watching Aliton BarbosaWorld Grappling Gold Medalist dominate Mitch McElroy, at the ActionFight League mixed martial arts match on Friday, June4th 2010.

American Top Team took it home at the Seminole Hard Rock Live'sGamebred MMA Rock n Rumble 3. The most impressive display ofstamina and focus was Aliton Barbosa vs. Mitch McElroy.American Top Team fighters seem to have it! Nearly every team-matestruck fear into their opponents' eyes as they fought to victory.

These champion contenders have the intensity, focus, and training toWIN inside the AFL cage! They held themselves strong and confidentlythroughout the fight and struck with precision and intent, much like thestand-out of the night - Jessica Aguilar. Jessica was in “thezone” the whole time as she conquered over Catta Victoria. Shedidn't flinch even once. Jessica Aguilar wants to win the Bellator titleand she is well on her way!

The one fight that ended before it all began was Randy Barrosoof American Top Team who dropped John Clarke (1-1) in just 18seconds with a devastating right hand. Technicality lost the match forBarroso. I was actually standing with Clarke’s pregnant wife while thedoctors were checking him out. He stared at her and let a single tear gobefore he was declared the winner of the match. I found this terriblyromantic; after all I am a girl!

The least impressive event of the evening was Sterling Fordvs. Charles "Krazy Horse" Bennett. As the main event of thenight, I expected a more impressive display of savagery - especiallyafter the big game Krazy Horse spoke of the night before.

Overall, Rock n Rumble 3 was a great sporting experience for SouthFlorida. One that I hope will return soon.

Zen the Band performance, Tobacco Road

Local Artists and old friends Zen The Band have a great sound. They are working to Save the Wallflower Gallery in Miami. The video is of their Performance at the 12th Annual Medical Marijuana Benefit Concert to raise funds forPUFMM’s (People United For Medical Marijuana), South Florida NORML’s(National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws) and PatientsOut Of Time’s medical marijuana campaign and the protection ofpatients’ rights. It was my first year attending the event. I learned most of the people fighting for this cause are very sick, like Irvin Rosenfeld, who spoke at the event.

I had a great time but I expected much more. The players take it as a joke and didn't put much effort into their performance. It rained and it was cold so I was a little uncomfortable and caught a cold after wards. Boohoo! This is the funniest pic of the night!

The Coconut Grove Arts Festival

This was my first time attending The Coconut Grove Arts Festival. My lovely friend Cristina gave me an all access pass! Free Food and Bacardi booze and I'm there!
Parking and traffic took an hour but it was worth it. We arrived just as ¡ SUÉNALO ! wrapped up their performance. Show was lovely as always! We filled our bellies and went on an artwalk. I found some truely amazing artists.

South Beach Comedy Festival

South Beach Comedy Festival is typically a wonderful experience, however this year was highly disappointing. I attended the Daily Show and Friends comedy show the last night of the festival. The show was dreadful. The sound and lighting were terrible! I was greatly disappointed with the Fillmore for not having those things set to perfection! This is the same venue that has hosted The Doors and Aretha Franklin.
I just couldn't wrap my head around the mistakes that were made.
Rory Albanese I have no opinion of. He opened the show and I couldn't hear a word he said. After his set my ears had adjusted to the echo. The stand out was Rob Riggle. I found myself being able to look past the terrible sound and lighting. I was struggling to hear him but what I heard was funny!
The biggest let down of the night was John Oliver. I was shocked that his entire set was about how stupid Americans are. I don't think he realized he is in a town where the majority of immigrants are thrilled to be here. The crowd heckled him after about 10 mins and the show was a bust.
After the show we waited for them to come out and greet the fans so I could ask a few questions and take some pictures. They came out but never approached the fans. Instead they stood behind poles and smoked cigarettes and didn't even wave!
I have no respect for public figures of any sort that don't appreciate their fan base. We made you who you are you ingrate!
I wish I hadn't paid for my ticket because it went to supporting John Olivers NYC apt on American soil.
Overall these guys are jerks and I'm no longer a fan!

Prodigy at Ultra Music Festival

I've attended EVERY Ultra. It has become a tradition I enjoy very much. I've been lucky enough to see some amazing acts for the past 12 years. My favorite would have to be watching Prodigy come out of retirement to perform. I can't describe how powerful the vibe was when thousands of people screamed, "Smack my bitch up". I was probably 13 at the height of Prodigy's popularity and never thought I would see them perform when I heard they called it quits. Ten years later I watched them perform one of the best shows they have put out. This is my favorite image of the entire festival. I am lucky to have some awesome friends that held me up for a few minutes so I could take this pic. A special thank you to my director of media relations and editor Andrew Brown!

I submitted to national geographic a few weeks back thinking, "Eh, what the hell!” I've done this before with MSNBC and posted as anonymous because I didn’t think I would make the cut. Well I did!

I dig music! I dig it deep MAN!
In my short existence I've learned to read music and play guitar, piano,recorder, flute, and piccolo. I stuck with flute, though guitars surround me daily. I never have the time to pick one up and keep at it. Which is why I don'tget upset when the 16-year-old neighbor meets with his punk band.

Working in nightclubs created a musical monster, I'll attend any show I'm invited to even screamo rock that leaves me with a headache!

Sit at workand enjoy for a couple hours. If your boss is cranky stream this in the office to chill him out!
If it has a beat, MOVE your feet! Give your coworkers a giggle and get down,you DANCE MACHINE!

PHISH

I went on a two day PHISHing trip for New Years. My friends are die-hard fans who went to every night of their 4 day run. I wasinvited to accompany them to ensure a fun filled New Year with my oldestfriends. We stayed at the now infamous EPIC hotel and residences of Miami. (Theirwater is rumored to kill people). Beautiful hotel with amazing views and allthe amenities you can imagine but their room service is awful and overpriced.Luckily we didn’t spend much time stuck in the room.

I learned a lot about the band and their following that weekend. I metpeople who had flown all over the country to hundreds of shows. I was told of theirwell-deserved hiatus. I learned man can play a vacuum, and its ok if the drummerwears a dress. I loved it! I'm sure they play until their fingers bleed!

Kiesha had a lot of energy but I didn’t consider it to be a great show. She lacked focus and took forever to take the stage. She sang Jay-Z songs and would stop the DJ and ask for a Biggie song! I love Jigga and Big but your Keyshia Cole not Jiggaman sweetheart. Hit the high note and break my wine glass, that's what I came for!

When an artist disappoints me I am thankful I can ignore them and just continue doing my job. Keyshia is currently pregnant and was engaged over the New Year. Mazel Tov! =)

Help End Holiday Hunger

I feel that my success is completely undeserved unless I do something to give back , even if it's a link. This holiday season I opted out of festivities. It was a choice. However, as I drove home at one in the morning with my bag of waffle house I felt sad for the people who didn't have a thanksgiving for reasons beyond their control. I felt fortunate, more then I have in a while. I decided I would be that much more generous this holiday season. With gifts of time, and truth. I vow this holiday season to make myself available to anyone who needs me.
Do your part to help! I was a girl scout when I was a kid and it always instilled civic duty in me to fight for the underdog!
So this holiday season I urge you to,
Give away Free Rice.
Help rebuild someones life.
Donate some time.
Put a present under the tree.
Adopt a new family member.
Be a big brother or sister. Or join the Boys and girls club.
